Fred Lewis had 2 base hits and Henry Boyle went the distance as the St. Louis
Maroons defeated the Buffalo Bisons by the score of 10 to 7 at Union
Park.

St. Louis brought 5 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning when
they had 4 base hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Orator Shafer who
excited the crowd when he doubled which was good for two runs.  St. Louis
totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Boyle(5-8) who allowed 7 runs for the game. Pud
Galvin(9-9) was the loser.  He was not very effective, surrendering 10 runs
in 7 innings.
