George Haddock pitched a 2 hitter and Tom Brown had 4 hits and 5 RBI at
Boundary Field as the sizzling Boston Reds embarrassed the Washington
Statesmen by the lopsided score of 16 to 2.

Brown provided the offensive punch. He doubled in the 1st inning, delivered a
single plating two runs in the 4th inning, laced a base-knock in the 6th
inning and doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 9th inning. Boston
bats were very productive in the 9th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 5
hits. Boston finished with 16 hits in the victory.

Haddock(19-2) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win. Kid
Carsey(6-12) absorbed the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 16 hits and 4
walks in 9 innings.

'Haddock gave us exactly what we needed today.' Arthur Irwin said. 'When he
threw the fastball he threw it for strikes. They were really fooled by his
change. Most of the time he had them chasing it.'
