WEB GEMS- Top 3rd: Billy Hamilton robbed Jack Glasscock of an extra base hit.

It was a real slugfest in Baseball Grounds where the Philadelphia Phillies
finally out-scored the St. Louis Browns by a score of 11 to 10 in 11
inning.

The score was knotted at 10 after nine innings. Finally, Philadelphia pulled
the game out in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Jack Boyle
reached on an error. Pink Hawley then tossed a pitch that the catcher
mis-handled. Jack Clements then doubled resulting in an exciting win for
Philadelphia and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. A
wild affair, this game saw the lead change 6 times.

Jack Taylor(3-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. The losing pitcher
was Hawley(5-4) in relief. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an
earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.

With the win, Philadelphia continued their winning ways; their streak now
stands at 6 games and counting. Harry Wright was thrilled following the game
-- 'We're really on a roll now. These guys are playing their hearts out and
I couldn't be happier for them!'
