Mike Tiernan had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Amos Rusie completed the game
without help from the bullpen as the New York Giants won in dramatic fashion
over the St. Louis Browns by a score of 11 to 10 at Polo Grounds.

New York came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 4 runners on
5 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Les German who elicited a roar
from the hometown fans when he doubled scoring two baserunners. New York had
a total of 13 hits for the game.

Rusie(5-11) finished the game allowing 10 runs in the victory. Ted
Breitenstein(8-6) suffered the loss. He was knocked around by New York,
allowing 11 hits and 3 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.

'We just wouldn't give up,' Tiernan said. 'Much of the credit goes to our fans
- they were with us the whole way.'
