game as the Chicago-NL Cubs defeated the Philadelphia-NL Phillies by the
score of 9 to 1 at West Side Park.

Chicago-NL took the lead off Bob Rhoads in the first inning when they came up
with 3 runs on 4 hits.  That was all the offense they were to need.
