The Boston-AL Red Sox and the Brooklyn Dodgers locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Washington Park.  The final score was the Boston-AL Red Sox
5, the Brooklyn Dodgers 4.

Fred Beebe(1-8) was called upon to do the job and he was the winning pitcher.
He went 1 inning and surrended up 2 hits and 1 walk.  Brooklyn had a chance
to come back in the 9th but they came up short.  

Frank Corridon earned his 5th save.  Harry Suter(1-2) was hit with the loss in
relief.  He saw his ERA jump from 1.42 to 3.29 as gave up 3 runs in 1 inning.

'Anytime you lose it hurts,' said Mike Etters 'but it's losing the close ones
that really hurt.'
