Dick Hoblitzell collected 2 extra-base hits and Rube Benton had a complete
game at Baker Bowl where the Cincinnati Reds beat the Philadelphia Phillies
in 11 innings by the score of 6 to 3.

The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings.  Cincinnati came out on
top in the 11th inning.  Dick Egan led off and started the attack as he laced
a base-knock.  Art Phelan came next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Jimmy
Esmond then reached on an error.  Larry McLean was up next and he ripped a
single bringing in a run.  Benton came up to bat and doubled adding another
two runs to their total.  Cincinnati finished with 10 hits in the victory.

The victory went to Benton(4-5) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. The
loss was charged to Pete Alexander(3-9) in relief.
