Heinie Zimmerman had 4 hits and 4 RBI and Jack Coombs was able to finish what
he started and was credited with a complete game as the Washington Nationals
man-handled the Pittsburgh Pirates - the final score was 19 to 2.

Zimmerman provided much of the offense. He tripled scoring a run in the 3rd
inning, doubled which brought home a run in the 5th inning, stroked a
one-base hit which scored a run in the 6th inning and doubled knocking in a
run in the 9th inning. Washington bats were very productive in the 3rd
inning which saw them score 6 runs on 5 hits and the 5th inning which saw
them plate 7 runs on 4 hits. Washington rapped out 21 hits for the
afternoon.

The win was credited to Coombs(6-5) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs.
Vean Gregg(8-7) was the loser. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 8 hits and 2
walks in 4 innings.
