Sam Jethroe went yard and had 3 RBI at Shibe Park as the Cincinnati Reds beat
the Philadelphia-AL Athletics 8 to 6.

Jethroe had a big day at the plate. He tripled which was good for two runs in
the 2nd inning and clubbed a solo home run in the 8th inning.  Cincinnati
managed 13 hits in their victory.  

The victory was credited to Ken Raffensberger(4-4) who went 6 innings,
allowing 6 runs. Paul Minner earned his 3rd save.  Carl Scheib(2-4) was
tagged with the loss in relief.  

The Cincinnati ballclub's record now stands at 27-30.  With the loss
Philadelphia-AL now has a record of 31-22.
