Willie Mays had 2 base hits as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Chicago-NL Cubs
by a score of 3 to 2.

Pittsburgh delivered all the runs required in the 6th inning scoring 3 runs
using 3 hits.  Bob Kennedy led off and started the attack as he drew a walk.
Bobby Hofman followed next and he lined a one-base hit.  Mays then doubled
scoring a single run.  After an out was recorded, Wally Post stepped up to
the plate and he drew a walk to load the bases.  After another out, Billy
Klaus came up and he delivered a base-hit accounting for two more runs.
Pittsburgh had 9 hits overall, while Chicago-NL had 6.  

The win went to Billy Pierce(10-1) who allowed 2 runs in 6 innings. Pierce got
help from Jim Konstanty who earned his 13th save.  Ike Delock(5-4) suffered
the loss.  

Pittsburgh now has a record of 42-31.  With the loss, the Chicago-NL
