WEB GEMS- Bot 5th: Joe Kelley robbed Jake Gettman of an extra base hit.

Joe Kelley had 4 hits and 4 RBI and Jim Hughes allowed Ned Hanlon to rest his
bullpen, tossing a complete game at Boundary Field as the Baltimore Orioles,
running on all cylinders, ripped the Washington Senators by a large 15 to 3
margin.

Kelley had a big day with his bat. He delivered a single which brought home a
run in the 1st inning, delivered a one-base hit plating a run in the 2nd
inning, singled plating two runs in the 3rd inning and slapped a base-hit in
the 6th inning. Baltimore provided plenty of action in the 2nd inning which
saw them plate 6 runs on 3 hits. Baltimore managed 17 hits in their victory.

Hughes(9-4) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Roy
Evans(1-3) was given the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 17 hits and 10
walks in 9 innings.

Baltimore remained hot, improving their record to a league leading 31-11.
They now have a record of 9-1 in recent days. Washington has a record of
17-29 after the loss.
