Jesse Tannehill pitched a complete game and Art Madison had 5 hits and 5 RBI
as the Cleveland Spiders were badly beaten by the Pittsburg Pirates, 20 to
5.

Madison had a big day against Cleveland.  He doubled which scored a run in the
3rd inning, lined a single plating a run in the 4th inning, laced a base-hit
bringing in a run in the 5th inning, doubled resulting in a run in the 7th
inning and banged out a one-base hit which plated a run in the 8th inning.
Pittsburg kept the scorekeepers busy in the 4th inning which saw them score 4
runs on 5 hits and the 7th inning when they had 6 runs on 6 hits.  Pittsburg
kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different
innings.  

The victory was credited to Tannehill(11-2) who went the distance, allowing 5
runs. Harry Maupin(0-2) ended up with the loss.  He was touched for 29 hits
and 3 walks in 9 innings.
