Jimmy Burke had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the New York-NL Giants defeated the
St. Louis-NL Cardinals 9 to 7 at Robison Field.

New York-NL went ahead for good in the 3rd inning when they came up with 2
runs on 3 hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Burke who silenced
Robison Field as he tripled bringing home two baserunners.  Jake Weimer(7-4)
was helped out by Bill Bernhard who pitched a perfect ninth and recorded his
6th save.  

Chief Bender(3-4) was tagged with the loss.  He allowed 3 runs and 6 hits in 5
innings.
