In a two run game the Boston-NL Braves got by the Washington Nationals by the
score of 6 to 4.

Boston-NL claimed the early lead in the first inning scoring a single run.
Washington threatened in the 9th but Boston-NL was able to put down the
rally.  

Frank Smith(7-3) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings.
George McQuillan gained credit for his 19th save.  Cy Falkenberg(5-8) was the
loser.  

'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Gordon Renaud
said after the game.  'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
