TEAM RISP- Red Sox: 2 for 10 Browns: 3 for 9

Barney Pelty had a complete game and Danny Hoffman had 2 base hits at
Sportsmans Park where the St. Louis Browns beat the Boston Red Sox 5 to
4.

St. Louis scored 2 runs in the decisive bottom of the 5th inning with the help
of 3 hits. It was enough scoring to earn the victory. Boston made it
exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

The victory was credited to Pelty(4-1) who went the distance, allowing 4 runs.
The loss was charged to Cy Young(9-3). He pitched 8 innings allowing 7 hits
and 2 walks.

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Pelty, 'I got burned on
a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
