Danny Murphy connected with a 'big fly' and had 2 RBI and Lefty Leifield went
7 strong innings as the Philadelphia-AL Athletics beat the St. Louis-AL
Browns by a score of 3 to 1.

In the 4th inning Philadelphia-AL scored 2 runs.  The key at-bat was by Murphy
who made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he blasted a two-run home
run.  After the 4th inning, neither team was able to score.  

The winning pitcher was Leifield(6-4) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Leifield
got help from Frank Lange who was credited with his 9th save.  Dolly
Gray(3-5) was the losing pitcher.
