TEAM RISP- Dodgers: 5 for 17 Athletics: 7 for 16
WEB GEMS- Bot 3rd: Eddie Collins robbed Bobby Wallace of a base hit.

Tris Speaker collected 2 extra-base hits and had 2 RBI as the Philadelphia-AL
Athletics came back to win one over Brooklyn Dodgers, 10 to
9.

Philadelphia-AL came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning
plating 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Art Fletcher led off the inning for
Philadelphia-AL when he lined a base-hit. After an out was recorded, Morrie
Rath came up and he slapped a single. Frank Laporte then drew a walk to load
the bases. Fred Merkle was up next and he hit a sacrifice fly which scored a
run. Home Run Baker came up to bat and ripped a one-base hit giving
Philadelphia-AL the victory as 9,349 happy fans celebrated wildly. This was
a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept
changing - 5 times in all.

The win went to Bert Humphries(2-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Tom
Seaton(2-2) was the loser in relief. Humphries and Speaker were really
whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great come from behind victory. As
Andy Spector noted, 'A win like this one can do wonders for a team's
attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the players - even you guys
- it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
