Carl Furillo had 3 base hits as the Chicago-NL Cubs bested the Pittsburgh
Pirates 5 to 2 at Wrigley Field.

Chicago-NL scored 4 runs in the 7th inning with the help of 5 hits.  They
would hold up as the winning runs.  For the game Chicago-NL out-hit
Pittsburgh 13 to 10.  

The victory went to Vic Raschi(3-5) who went 8 and 1/3 innings, allowing 2
runs. Jim Konstanty got the save, his 4th.  Ed Lopat(4-6) was the losing
pitcher.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 1/3
innings.
