Cap Anson smacked 2 triples and had 2 RBI and Cherokee Fisher allowed Scott
Hastings to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Rockford Forest
Citys(R) bested the Philadelphia Athletics 11 to 7 at Jefferson St
Grounds.

Philadelphia never recovered after Rockford took the lead in the 5th inning
plating an isolated run utilizing 2 base hits.  Despite scoring in 5 separate
innings, Philadelphia could not get the win.  

Fisher(4-7) allowed 7 runs on the game. Dick McBride(4-1) ended up with the
loss.  He allowed Rockford 11 runs in 9 innings of work.
