Johnny Bates had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the sizzling Boston-AL Americans
defeated the St. Louis-AL Browns in 10 innings by the score of 10 to 9 at
Huntington Ave Grnds.

Both teams were tied at 9 runs apiece after nine innings.  Boston-AL won the
hard fought contest in the 10th inning.  Ginger Beaumont ripped a single.
Tim Jordan came next and he grounded into a double play.  Jim Delahanty then
laced a base-hit.  Dale Van Leven then called for a steal which was
successful.  Bates came up to bat and laced a base-knock making Boston-AL the
winners and sending the 8,750 fans home happy.  This was a game of many highs
and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all.

Buster Brown(2-1) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Lew Richie(0-1)
was charged with the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings giving up
6 hits and 1 walk.
