Tommy Byrne(4-0) contributed a very nice performance in relief. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk in 2 innings improving his ERA from 3.94 to 3.71. St. Louis went down without a fight in the bottom of the 9th. Byrne was helped out by Forrest Thompson who recorded his 2nd save. Tom Ferrick(1-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He allowed 3 runs and 2 hits in 1 inning. Boston added another win to their mounting winning streak.
