TEAM RISP- Red Sox: 6 for 18 Cardinals: 3 for 10

It was a real slugfest in Sportsman's Park where the sizzling Boston Red Sox
finally out-scored the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 13 to 10 in.

Tommy Byrne(4-0) contributed a very nice performance in relief. He was stingy
on the mound, allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk in 2 innings improving his ERA
from 3.94 to 3.71. St. Louis went down without a fight in the bottom of the
9th.

Byrne was helped out by Forrest Thompson who recorded his 2nd save. Tom
Ferrick(1-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He allowed 3 runs and 2 hits
in 1 inning.

Boston added another win to their mounting winning streak.
