Charlie Sweeney went 11 strong innings at Union Park where the St. Louis
Maroons beat the Buffalo Bisons in 11 innings by the score of 3 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine.  St. Louis won the hard fought contest in
the 11th inning.  After an out was recorded, Fred Dunlap tripled.  Orator
Shafer next to the plate and he lined a single resulting in a mighty exciting
win for St. Louis and the 861 home town fans in attendance.  St. Louis rapped
out 7 hits for the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Sweeney(3-8) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Pete
Conway(0-1) took the loss in relief.  He surrendered 1 run and 2 hits in 1/3
of an inning.
