Old Hoss Radbourn went the distance and Hardy Richardson had 2 base hits at
Congress St Grounds as the Boston Reds won in dramatic fashion coming back to
beat the Philadelphia Athletics by the count of 7 to 6.

Boston came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs using 2
hits.  Richardson led off and started the rally when he delivered a single.
Harry Stovey came next and he ripped a base-hit.  Billy Nash then drew a walk
to load the bases.  Dan Brouthers came up and he reached on an error which
plated a run.  Morgan Murphy stepped into the box and drew a walk giving
Boston the win as 4,857 happy fans joyfully celebrated.  Boston had a total
of 9 hits for the game.  

The win was credited to Radbourn(9-4) who went the whole way allowing 6 runs.
The losing pitcher was Bill Husted(3-2).  He pitched 8 innings and
surrendered 9 hits and 8 walks.
