Third baseman Home Run Baker had 2 base hits at Huntington Ave Grnds as the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the
Boston-AL Red Sox by the count of 4 to 2.

Philadelphia-AL scored the winning runs in the 9th inning when they came up
with 4 runs on 3 hits. The big moment was provided by Art Fletcher who
deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he tripled plating three runs.
Philadelphia-AL won despite being out-hit by Boston-AL 9 hits to 6.

Joe Benz(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no
runs. Benz got help from Buck O'Brien who earned his 10th save. Chief
Bender(7-6) absorbed the loss.

'I pin this one on my own shoulders,' Bender said. 'The bottom line is I
didn't get the job done. Our fans deserve better than this.'
