Larry Doyle blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Rube Marquard was able to
finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the New York
Giants bested the Cincinnati Reds 8 to 1 at Redland Field.

Doyle was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at
their team's expense.  He cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the
3rd inning and blasted a two-run home run in the 9th inning.  New York
finished with 15 hits in the victory.  

Marquard(6-4) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. George
Suggs(3-5) suffered the loss.  He gave up 15 hits and no walks in 9 innings.
