Reb Russell went the distance and Shano Collins had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as
the Chicago White Sox topped the Washington Nationals by a score of 3 to 2 at
Griffith Stadium.

Chicago came up with 1 run in the top of the 6th inning. Washington made it
exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Russell(5-6) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Walter
Johnson(9-5) took the loss. Clark Griffith was clearly disappointed after
the game. 'It was a manager's nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have
had this one.'
