Hutchinson had overwhelming stuff this afternoon. He simply never gave the St. Louis batters a decent pitch to drive. He only walked one St. Louis batter. The tension was mounting with every inning after the 6th. Hutchinson appeared oblivious himself to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th. Only then, did he allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the mound. Boston finished with just 6 hits in the victory. Harry Brecheen(8-3) took the loss. It took a while to pry Hutchinson way from his teammates as they all wanted to show their appreciation and joy. Finally, however, Allan Kaufman got to offer his own congratulations with a big bear hug and the comment, 'That was one of the best pitched games I have seen in all my years in baseball - Hutchinson was masterful out there this afternoon!'
