Kid Carsey tossed a complete game as the Philadelphia Phillies pulled out a
win over the Pittsburg Pirates by a score of 6 to 5 at Baker Bowl.

The game was won by Philadelphia when they scored a run in the bottom of the
9th inning.  Jack Boyle ripped a one-base hit.  Ed Delahanty followed and he
reached on an error.  Billy Hamilton then stroked a base-hit, and an error
was also committed, resulting in an exciting win for Philadelphia and a wild
post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Philadelphia managed 13 hits in
their victory.  

Carsey(5-5) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 5 runs. Pink
Hawley(11-6) was tagged with the loss.  He was unable to control the
Philadelphia offense and allowed 13 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.
