Third baseman Bill Everitt had 5 hits and scored 3 times and Buttons Briggs
completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Chicago Colts topped
the Boston Beaneaters by a score of 8 to 6 at South End Grounds.

Everitt was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense. He slapped a one-base hit in the 1st inning,
slapped a base-hit in the 3rd inning, tripled in the 5th inning, hit a
bases-empty home run in the 7th inning and laced a base-hit in the 9th
inning. Chicago rapped out 16 hits for the afternoon.

Briggs(4-7) was the winner allowing 6 runs for the game. Fred Klobedanz(8-5)
was the loser. He gave up 16 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings.
