3,496 fans watched an exciting game at South End Grounds.  The Washington
Senators topped the Boston Beaneaters by the slimmest of margins, 9 to
8.

Both teams had scored 7 runs after nine full innings.  Washington came out on
top in the 10th inning.  Kip Selbach led off the inning for Washington when
he ripped a base-knock.  Two outs later Duke Farrell came to bat and smacked
a single.  John Anderson then smashed a two-run homer.  Both teams ended up
with 14 hits on the afternoon.  

Roy Evans(2-3) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Bill Donovan
earned his 3rd save.  Vic Willis(6-4) was the loser.  He got hit hard,
allowing 14 hits and 5 walks in 10 innings.  

Jimmy Collins knocked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI but it wasn't enough for
Boston.
