Cincinnati erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 8th inning scoring 3 runs on 4 base hits. Johnny Bates started the inning off right when he doubled. After an out was recorded, Jimmy Esmond came to bat and ripped a single which scored a run. Eddie Grant then slapped a single. Grant got a good lead and stole second. One out later, Larry McLean stepped in and he lashed a one-base hit which was good for two more runs. Brooklyn had 12 hits in the game while Cincinnati had 8, but Cincinnati had the more timely hits. Gaspar(6-3) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. Doc Scanlan(2-3) was given the loss. 'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Gaspar said.
