Right fielder Mike McCormick smacked 2 triples and had 2 RBI at Crosley Field
where the Cincinnati Reds beat the Washington Nationals 9 to 5.

Cincinnati brought 6 runs across the plate in the 7th inning with the help of
6 hits.  The big moment was provided by Barney McCosky who made the home-town
crowd a happy bunch when he tripled scoring two baserunners.  Washington was
out-hit by Cincinnati, 15 hits to 7.  

The winning pitcher was Ted Wilks(8-2) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Kirby
Higbe(4-2) took the loss in relief.  He gave up 4 hits and 1 walk in 1 and
2/3 innings.
