Stan Lopata had 2 base hits as the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated the Pittsburgh
Pirates by a score of 4 to 3 at Ebbets Field.

Art Fowler(4-3) got the win but did not look spectacular.  He gave up 11 hits
and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.  The Pittsburgh offense proved no trouble
in the 9th.  

Fowler was helped out by Harvey Haddix who recorded his 1st save.  Billy
Pierce(6-6) was hit with the loss.  With this win, Brooklyn has a 23-42
record.  They have been 3-7 lately.  With the loss, Pittsburgh has a record
of 5-5 lately, 42-27 overall.
