Russ Ford(4-5), with relief help from Red Hoff, blanked St. Louis in a day
game.  The New York Yankees scored 7 runs in a winning effort at Polo
Grounds.

St. Louis found themselves trailing quickly as the New York bats came through
in the first inning scoring one runner on 2 base hits.  That was all Ford
needed.  New York ended up with 9 hits for the game while St. Louis had 4.

Carl Weilman(6-6) took the loss.  He surrendered 9 hits and 4 walks in 7
innings.
