Pete Gilbert had 3 base hits and Sadie McMahon was able to finish what he
started and was credited with a complete game as the Baltimore Orioles bested
the Washington Statesmen 5 to 3 at Union Park.

Baltimore had 2 runs cross the plate in the 7th inning.  Gilbert led off and
started the rally when he slapped a base-hit.  Wilbert Robinson stepped up
next and he slapped a one-base hit.  McMahon then reached on an error which
brought home a run.  Curt Welch came up and he was hit by a pitch.  George
Van Haltren stepped into the box and hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final
run of the inning.  Baltimore rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.

McMahon(13-11), allowing 3 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Frank
Foreman(6-3) suffered the loss.  He gave up 5 runs and 8 hits in 8 innings.
