Kelley was really in 'the zone'. He lined a base-hit scoring a run in the 2nd inning, lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 3rd inning, tripled which brought home a run in the 4th inning and slapped a single in the 7th inning. Brooklyn kept the scorekeepers busy in the 3rd inning when they had 6 runs on 5 hits and the 5th inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 4 hits. Brooklyn totaled 19 hits on the afternoon. For Dunn(5-6) it was his 3rd shutout this year. Frank Bates(1-4) took the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 19 hits and 8 walks in 9 innings. 'They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,' Kelley said 'next time I'm sure they'll pitch me tougher.'
