Ernie Courtney had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Bob Ewing pitched a complete game
as the Washington Nationals ballclub embarrassed the Chicago-NL Cubs by the
count of 13 to 2.

Washington took the lead for keeps in the 4th inning when they scored 5 runs
on 4 hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Ewing who deflated the
crowd as he doubled with all three runners coming home.  Washington totaled
15 hits on the afternoon.  

Ewing(6-4) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Jack Chesbro(7-7)
