It was a great finish at Polo Grounds as the New York-NL Giants pulled off a
dramatic comeback beating the Boston-AL Red Sox by the count of 5 to 4.

New York-NL had the game winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs on 3
hits. Hans Lobert started the inning off right when he stroked a one-base
hit. After an out was recorded, Dots Miller came to bat and smacked a
single. Bob Bescher then lined a base-hit scoring a run. Chief Bender then
unleashed a wild pitch. Miller Huggins came up to bat and hit a deep fly
giving New York-NL the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.
Both teams finished the game with 8 hits.

Bill Burns(4-3) was the winner allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Walter
Johnson(11-7) was hit with the loss. He pitched 8 and 1/3 innings giving up
8 hits and 4 walks.
