TEAM RISP- Alleghenys: 1 for 12 Phillies: 2 for 16
WEB GEMS- Top 2nd: Bob Allen robbed Harry Decker of a base hit.

Tom Vickery was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the pathetic Pittsburg
Alleghenys in 11 innings by a score of 7 to 6 at Baseball Grounds.

Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Philadelphia
prevailed in the 11th inning. Bob Allen got things going when he doubled.
Kirtley Baker then had one get away for a wild pitch. Phenomenal Smith then
hit a sacrifice fly scoring a run. Billy Hamilton was up next and he slapped
a one-base hit. Hamilton got a great jump and stole second easily.
Philadelphia continued their aggressive style with another stolen base
resulting in an exciting win for Philadelphia and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans. A wild affair, this game saw the lead
change 5 times.

Vickery(10-5) lasted until the end allowing 6 runs for the win. Baker(2-7) was
the loser. 'I struggled a bit out there today,' Vickery said, 'but I toughed
it out and we got the win.'
