Charlie Reilly slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI and Jack Easton allowed Al
Buckenberger to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Columbus
Solons defeated the struggling St. Louis Browns 9 to 5 at Recreation
Park.

Columbus tallied 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning when they had 3 base
hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Jack Crooks who elicited a
roar from the hometown fans when he doubled scoring two baserunners.
Columbus had a total of 8 hits for the game.  

The victory went to Easton(9-9) who went the distance allowing 5 runs. Bill
Whitrock(1-8) took the loss.  Columbus knocked him around a bit, as he gave
up 9 runs in 8 innings.
