Frank Smith allowed Fielder Jones to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
at Huntington Ave Grnds where the Chicago White Sox beat the Boston Americans
4 to 2.
Chicago did all of it's offensive work in the 5th inning as they scored 4 runs
on 2 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by George Rohe who
silenced the crowd when he tripled with all three baserunners touching home.
Boston out-hit Chicago 8 to 4, but Chicago ended up with more runs.
Smith(7-7) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Tex Pruiett(1-4)
was the loser. He gave up just 4 runs and 4 hits in 9 innings.
