Roger Bresnahan had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Washington Nationals bested the
Philadelphia-NL Phillies 12 to 4 at Baker Bowl.

Washington went ahead for good in the top of the 7th inning plating one
baserunner using 2 hits.  Washington had many opportunities throughout the
game and scored in 6 separate innings.  

The win went to Hooks Wiltse(8-5) who allowed 4 runs in 6 innings. Wiltse got
help from Fred Burchell who earned his 2nd save.  Ed Karger(2-4) was the
losing pitcher in relief.  Washington knocked him around a bit, as he gave up
5 runs in 2 innings.
