The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings.  Philadelphia-NL won the
hard fought contest in the 11th inning.  Hank Bauer led off and started the
rally when he drew a walk.  Nellie Fox came to the plate and ripped a
base-knock.  Andy Seminick then doubled knocking home two runners.  New
York-AL was out-hit by Philadelphia-NL, 13 hits to 4.  

Curt Simmons(6-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3
innings. Frank Hiller recorded his 2nd save.  Bob Kuzava(2-3) absorbed the
loss in relief.
