At Yankee Stadium the New York-AL Yankees outscored the Pittsburgh Pirates 10
to 7.

New York-AL had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning plating 3
runs utilizing 4 base hits.  Paul Minner led off and keyed the rally when he
banged out a single.  Richie Ashburn came to the plate and cleared the fences
for a two-run home run.  Minnie Minoso then hit a bases-empty home run.  Both
teams ended up with 15 hits on the afternoon.  

Minner(2-1) got the win allowing 1 run in 5 innings. The losing pitcher was
Dutch Leonard(1-2) in relief.  He allowed 4 hits and no walks in 1 inning.
