Wertz had a big day with his bat. He clubbed a two-run home run in the 3rd

in the 8th inning. New York-AL had a chance in the 9th but they came up
short.

Allie Reynolds(2-6) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory.
Jim Hughes recorded the save, his 10th. Herm Wehmeier(1-2) was charged with
the loss. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 9 innings.

'I was in my hotel room the other night, working on my swing and made some
adjustments,' Wertz said. 'I'm always working on it. If they are getting you
out certain ways, you've got to make changes.'
