The Philadelphia Phillies edged the Baltimore Orioles at Union Park by the
score of 8 to 7.

Bill Hallman enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He doubled plating a run in the
5th inning, doubled with all three baserunners touching home in the 7th
inning and doubled in the 9th inning.  Philadelphia finished with 15 hits
while Baltimore ended up with 11.  

The winning pitcher was Gus Weyhing(8-5) who allowed 7 runs in 8 innings. Al
Lukens recorded his 1st save.  Tony Mullane(4-6) absorbed the loss.  He got
hit pretty hard, allowing 15 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings.  

Philadelphia remained hot, improving their record to 22-22.  They now have a
record of 8-2 in recent days.  With the loss Baltimore now has a record of
23-20.
