Wiley Piatt completed the game without help from the bullpen as the
Philadelphia Phillies beat the St. Louis Browns by a score of 2 to
1.

Piatt(7-3) pitched well for Philadelphia in their victory.  He surrendered 6
hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.  St. Louis had a chance to come back in the
9th but they came up short.  

Jack Taylor(5-10) suffered the loss.  'You have to give St. Louis credit, they
fought us tough to the end' Billy Nash said.  'It could have gone either way,
but I'm glad we pulled out the victory.'
