First baseman Duke Farrell had 5 hits and 5 RBI as the Brooklyn Superbas
destroyed the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 23 to 8 at Washington
Park.

Farrell was spectacular at the plate.  The hometown fans showed their
appreciation with a standing ovation his last time at bat.  He stroked a
one-base hit which brought home a run in the 3rd inning, doubled bringing in
two baserunners in the 4th inning, smacked a single in the 5th inning,
doubled in the 7th inning and doubled scoring two baserunners in the 8th
inning.  Brooklyn lit up the scoreboard in the 4th inning with 7 runs on 6
hits and the 5th inning when they had 5 runs on 5 hits.  Brooklyn simply wore
out the Cincinnati pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings.

Brickyard Kennedy(4-4) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 6 runs for the win. Doc
Parker(0-1) was the losing pitcher.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 27 hits
and 2 walks in 8 innings.
