Jack Chesbro(14-4) pitched a rare no-hitter as the New York Highlanders toppled the league door-mat Washington Senators 3 to 1. Chesbro was obviously at the top of his game as he set the Washington batters down like so many dominoes. He walked 5 Washington batters. The tension was mounting with every inning after the 6th. Chesbro appeared oblivious himself to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th. Only then, did he allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the mound. New York had only 6 hits for the game. Casey Patten(4-8) was hit with the loss. When asked how his stuff was out there, Chesbro looked a bit incredulous (as did this reporter) and replied 'A bit better than average, I'd have to say' SCORESHEET: 1904 New York Highlanders at 1904 Washington Senators P.Doughe-A1 A1:K B1:F/9 *6*:G/43 D1:L/4 D.Fultz-A1 A2:Si B2:K C2:Si D2:Sac/14 >3# J.Willia-A1 A3:SB+E/2 *4*:G/43 C3:F/8 D3:G/43 >13 L/6 J.Anders-A1 A4:E/4>3# B4:G/53 C4:SB>12 *9*:Si IW>b1 J.Ganzel-A1 A5:SB>12 B5:G/63 C5:F/8 D5:G-DP/5 F/7 43>1o D.McGuir-A1 *2*:E/4 *5*:Si *7*:F/9 D6:W>b1 C.Osteen-A1 A7:G-DP/5 B7:L/4 C7:G/53 D7:Tr>1# 43>1o J.Thoney-A1 A8:L/5 B8:P/5 C8:G/43 D8:G/43 J.Chesbr-A1 *3*:G/63 B9:G/63 *8*:Tr J.Cassid-A1 A1:F/8 B1:K C1:G/63 D1:P/3 P.Donova-A1 A2:W>b1 *4*:G/43 C2:K D2:K B.Coughl-D2 C.Moran-A1 A3:NOTE B3:L/5 *7*:K D3:F/9 K.Selbac-A1 *2*:L/6 B4:K C4:W>b1 B.McCorm-A1 A5:L/5 *5*:K C5:G-DP/6 43>1o J.Stahl-A1 A6:F/7 B6:F/8 *8*:G/53 B.Clarke-A1 *3*:L/6 B7:W>b1 C7:G/53 L.Drill-A1 A8:W>b1 B8:F/8 C8:P/5 C.Patten-A1 A9:SB+E/2 *6*:L/3 *9*:W>b1 L.Herrin-C9 >13 WP>3# L/4
