After an out was recorded, John Dobbs then smacked a single giving Brooklyn the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Overall Brooklyn out-hit Philadelphia 9 to 3. Jack Doscher(3-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Fred Mitchell(1-5) suffered the loss. Brooklyn's manager was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of games -- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back. Now maybe we can relax a little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.'
